16 June 2022, Budapest – The international training programme of the Hungarian Competition Authority and the OECD focused on the topic of interim administrative measures within the frames of a three-day seminar. The Budapest training brought together competition experts from 11 countries in addition to the Hungarian colleagues.
The Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) jointly operate the Regional Centre for Competition (RCC) which continued its training programme started in the spring with another international training seminar in Budapest.
This time, the RCC's programme focused on the so-called interim measures. Participants from the competition authorities of Eastern, South-Eastern and Central Europe learned from experts from the GVH and the OECD, as well as from EU competition authorities, about the functioning, principles and competition policy considerations of public interest safeguards applied in the course of proceedings. In line with the RCC’s training courses, the seminar explored the topic through joint analyses, with a special focus on the main issues of the application of interim measures in digital markets. The participants thus gained practical knowledge during the three-day course in Budapest that can be used in their everyday work in the authorities.
