Jubilee international conference on the 35th anniversary of the Hungarian Competition Authority organised by the Hungarian Competition Authority and the Hungarian Competition Law Association

GVH 35: The 8th Hungarian Competition Law Forum.

Following Hungary’s democratic transition in 1989, the first freely elected National Assembly adopted the Act LXXXVI of 1990 on the Prohibition of Unfair Market Practices on 20 November 1990. This legislative act established the Hungarian Competition Authority as an independent institution, which commenced its operations on 1 January 1991, concurrently with the Act’s entry into force.

To mark this distinguished historical occasion, the GVH is organising an international conference on competition and consumer protection law, titled “GVH 35 – National, EU and Global Aspects of Competition Law” on Thursday, 19 March 2026, in Budapest, Hungary. This event will simultaneously constitute as the 8th Hungarian Competition Law Forum of 2026, the traditional annual gathering of Hungary’s competition policy and competition law community.

The event has limited capacity, and participation is reserved primarily for invited guests.

Date: 19 March 2026 (Thursday) 09:00 a.m.

Registration: from 08:30 a.m.

Venue: Conference Room of the Hungarian Competition Authority

Address: HU-1026 Budapest, Riadó street 5-11.
