The OECD-GVH Regional Centre for Competition is delighted to announce that the 15th edition of the biannual newsletter “Competition Policy in Eastern Europe and Central Asia” is available, both in English and Russian, on the website of the RCC: www.oecdgvh.org.

The present edition focuses on a topical issue in light of the market disruptions created by the COVID-19 pandemic: Competitive Neutrality. In the face of increased State intervention and industrial policy, competition authorities may play a key role in ensuring that State action does not result in a competitive advantage for some companies based on their ownership (public or private) or nationality.

We also decided to create a Special Supplement dedicated to policy responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, which includes considerations by the OECD Secretary General Angel Gurría, an article by the Chair of the OECD Competition Committee Frederic Jenny and several examples of good practices to deal with economic crisis.
