Representatives of the Hungarian Competition Authority and the Austrian Federal Competition Authority recently held a professional meeting in Vienna, bringing together the respective units responsible for market analysis, cartel screening and investigations.

During the exchange, the participants discussed general methodological approaches to and challenges of market and cartel screening, as well as the role of artificial intelligence and digital forensic tools in supporting competition law enforcement. The meeting provided an opportunity to share experiences on the use of AI-based solutions, as well as on the integration of analytical and forensic tools into day-to-day enforcement work in order to support case handlers in a practical and effective manner.

The discussions were open, forward-looking and highly constructive. Both sides confirmed that the exchange was fruitful and underlined the importance of continued dialogue and close professional cooperation between the two authorities. The meeting further strengthened the already excellent working relationship and laid the groundwork for future collaboration in areas of shared interest.
