Short description:

The case was about how the dominant telecom operator Magyar Telekom hindered the switch-over by subscribers from one to another Internet service provider by causing a break of 30 to 60 days of the service through removing and reinstalling the modems used by the subscribers concerned.

Decision:

Termination of the proceeding in respect of price discrimination by Magyar Telekom and identification of a practice, without the imposition of a fine, by which Magyar Telekom forced consumers to accept disadvantageous conditions and infringed in this way the prohibition declared in point a) of Article 21 of the Hungarian Competition Act.
