New leaders at the Hungarian Competition Authority
Mr. Pál SCHMITT, the President of the Republic of Hungary appointed yesterday the new leaders of the Hungarian Competition Authority (Gazdasági Versenyhivatal - GVH). In the following six years the Head of the GVH is going to be Mr. Miklós JUHÁSZ, while Mr. Zoltán HORVÁTH and Mr. András TÓTH are appointed as Vice Presidents. At the same time, Mr. András TÓTH was charged with the responsibilities of the Chair of the Competition Council, too.
Dr. Miklós JUHÁSZ was employed by the Pest Central District Court as a judge between 1976-1985, afterward he became a legal counsellor. Since 1990 he pursued his activity as an attorney, while in 2001 he started to operate his own law firm.
Dr. András TÓTH worked for the GVH between 2002-2007, while in 2007 he joined one of the leading American law firms as an attorney. He obtained his PhD degree at the University of Pécs, Faculty of Law. Since 2010 he contributes to the Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church as an assistant professor.
Since 2007 Dr. Zoltán HORVÁTH has worked for the State Audit Office as an auditor adviser. Previously he was employed by the ancestor of the Ministry of Rural Development (Ministry of Agriculture) between 1991-1997, while in 1999 he started to work for the ancestor of the Ministry of National Resources (Ministry of National Cultural Heritage). During his 35-year-long carrier he has been pursuing his activity mainly in the public administration.
