International conference for European judges dealing with competition law

The OECD-Hungary Regional Centre for Competition jointly established by the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) organises an international conference for European judges engaged in competition law on 20-21 November 2009.

The two-day programme provides an opportunity specifically for judges to get familiarised with the recent changes in EC competition law and economics that affect their work, and to debate about their related experiences. The conference mostly aims at reviewing the non-price-related practices of the dominant undertakings, hereby it can be considered as the continuation of the similar conference held last year. The barriers to entry will be highlighted in the conference. The judges will not only be listeners, but also active players of the conversations and debates, and they will be involved in the practical process of some cases as well. They will of course be given the opportunity to make direct personal relations and exchange experiences, which will serve as a basis for closer future co-operations.

Coming from various institutions of various countries, the speakers are practical and theoretical experts of competition law, among others one of the colleagues of the GVH.
