Decision of the Competition Council of the Hungarian Competition Authority (Gazdasági Versenyhivatal - GVH) Vj-92/2005: Taxi cartel (Gábriel-Lux Taxi Kft., Nyír-1 Taxi Professional Association, Zsolt Ferku individual entrepreneur and Pál Zatureczki individual entrepreneur)

The Competition Council of the Hungarian Competition Authority (Gazdasági Versenyhivatal - GVH) established in its decision, issued on 11 July 2006, that four undertakings active on the market of taxis (Gábriel-Lux Taxi Kft., Nyír-1 Taxi Professional Association, Zsolt Ferku individual entrepreneur and Pál Zatureczki individual entrepreneur) infringed the provisions on the Prohibition of Agreements Restricting Economic Competition of the Hungarian Competition Act.

In the competition supervision proceeding the Competition Council of the GVH concluded that the four undertakings organised meetings in order to increase prices of their services.

The Competition Council of the GVH imposed the following fines on the undertakings: Pál Zatureczki individual entrepreneur HUF 200.000, Nyír-1 Taxi Szakmai Egyesülés HUF 150.000, Gábriel-Lux Taxi Kft. HUF 100.000. As Zsolt Ferku individual entrepreneur was a new entrant on the market, it was not obliged to pay a fine.
